Book Club--An Introduction to Hack 10: Resolve Conflicts
I can't believe we've reached the end of the book, all! Welcome to our last week of the Hacking School Culture book club. If you'd like to dive in to Hacks 1-9, know that you can find all of our book club posts right here. You're welcome to start any time and move through them at your own pace. If you're interested in processing your reading with Ellen or myself, feel free to contact us, too. We'd love to hear from you!
This week, I was prepared to video chat with you about the power of protocols and peaceful conflict resolution inside of schools. This is a hot topic in my world at the moment, and I know that it's important work that many are struggling to begin and sustain. As I began looking for additional tools and resources to inspire all of you, I came upon this video, and I realized: It's too good not to share.
As you prepare to read Hack 10, take a moment to watch this first.
I'm well acquainted with a number of group intervention structures, but this forum warms my heart in a bunch of different ways.
I'm wondering how we can create school cultures where kids feel comfortable bringing their problems to a group like this one.
It's so human. So unfiltered. So compassionate.
I'd love to know what you think, too. I'm also grateful to Edutopia for the share.
I'll be back on Wednesday to take a deeper dive into the last hack with all of you.
See you then!
